Drama assignment, environments

We just finished the drama assignments in Visual Development class which involved putting the characters we already created in an environment with drama.

And a sketch from children's book..

What's Veronica up to?

Just finished some illustrations in class! Open ended fashion illustration:

And a piece for the local music festival held annually in Sarasota, La Musica. :)

I've also been making some slow but steady progress on my children's book illustrations! I'm really happy to be doing a story that was told to my mother in Cuba by her grandmother. I am calling it "The Jeweled Doors". Here are some visual development images for that:

Visual Deveopment

In Visual Development we finished an assignment recently called Genesis! It involved three parts, one was doing 100 silhouettes and 50 doodles and then picking two silhouettes and one doodle to explore. These were mine:

And then we did part two which called for looking for character in texture and clouds etc. Lots of fun!

And finally our last exploration involved merging elements. We were giving a pair of random things to merge. The first was an animal and a vehicle. I was given a gorilla and ATV.

The second was an animal and an insect and I was given a ferret and green darner dragon fly

At the moment we are doing environments in which we place out character into that will give a sense of drama! I'll update with those later! :)

Commission Mission!

Just got a small commission that was big fun to do. They wanted a banner to go on their youtube page so here it is! This was a lot of fun to work on. :)

Illest of Illustration T-Shirt Design

So they are holding a contest for Illest of Ill! I went ahead and designed a shirt for it.. didn't have the time to bust out a poster but oh well :) I had a lot of fun and tried something a bit different than usual.
